Supernationals XIII in the books

Well the greatest kart racing event that I've ever been witness to is in the books. This years Supernationals was by far the best run, most professional, best attended race in SKUSA history. The track layout was great, three sets of spectator bleachers, and fantastic weather. Possibly the best kart race to date in North America. With 25 countries represented, and over 400 drivers...this event was host to the best competition possible. Add the lights and sounds of Vegas and you have the makings of more than just a kart race.
I was humbled by the competition to say the least...I qualified 29th out a class of 40. During the feature race on Sunday, I had worked my way up to as high as 15th before the kart handling began to fade with the increasing amount of grip on the track. The 25 lap feature proved to be a physically demanding track for me and the karts handling. I would end up taking an 18th place finish in the main event.
As a reference of the caliber of talent and competition for this event....Dan Wheldon (former Indy 500 champion) finished 4th in his class, and Michael Schumacher (7 time world F1 champion) finished 7th in his class. This was serious racing from day one!

....topping of the racing was an after party at the VooDoo Lounge....52 floors above the Vegas lights. The rooftop nightclub of the RIO is the perfect setting to cap off a great week!
